Contemplate Before It’s Too Late

The souls of the oppressed cry in vain

Heartbroken: as our brothers and sisters are being mercilessly slain.

The enemy has attacked over and over again,

While we just watch and shake our heads in disdain.

Do our hearts truly grieve?

Or do we give our forged condolences merely to deceive?

Maybe we should pledge to do more- even if it seems difficult to achieve,

For we shall be questioned: if we claim to believe.

***

How will we be able to justify our negligence on Judgement Day?

If we truly loved our Ummah, wouldn’t we help them in every way?

Too busied in trivial pursuits to care- yet for wasting time we will pay

Let’s take a moment to stop: step back, so you can reflect and pray.
